Quilting Rates
Edge To Edge Quilting
Most edge-to-edge designs are 0.03 per square inch. For more denser
designs, pricing will go up from there depending on the density and complexity
of the design.
My minimum charge is $50. This means that a small quilt or table runner's
square-inch price will be rounded up to the $50 minimum.
Example: A quilt top is 60 inches x 80 inches.
60 x 80 = 4,800 square inches x .030 = $144.
All pricing is in Canadian dollars.
Custom Quilting
Custom quilting is both complex and time intensive, therefore I only accept a select few per year. For custom work inquiries, please email me at hangingthreadquilting@gmail.com.
Batting
I use and stock Arctic Cotton batting in Bamboo Blend, Cotton/Poly blend, and White Cotton.
I charge for batting by the linear inch from a roll of 96'' wide batting. I will use only what is needed for your quilt (smallest side + an 8'' margin) and charge per inch.
Bamboo Blend (50% Bamboo & 50% Cotton) 0.52 per inch ($20.47 /meter)
Bamboo is breathable with a slight loft and is lightweight. It drapes very well and will keep you cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Bamboo is also said to have natural anti-bacterial properties.
Cotton/Poly Blend (80% Cotton & 20% Polyester) 0.48 per inch ($18.89 /meter)
Cotton/Poly Blend batting has the characteristic of cotton batting with a little more loft. Its great for bed quilts or anything that needs a softer look. It has a nice drape and this type of batting is one of the most popular.
White Cotton (!00% Cotton) 0.64 per inch ($25.20 /meter)
Quilts quilted with cotton batting are warm, soft, and have a crinkly look after washing that is reminiscent of antique quilts.
Perfect for bed quilts and projects where loft is not required. Cotton batting is a light and breathable natural fiber and the heaviest weight batting.
Polyester, wool, black batting or 120'' wide batting are available by special request.
Batting is a separate charge and is NOT included in the square inch price, nor available for discounts.

Thread
I exclusively stock Fil-Tec Glide #40 and #60 weight threads. I don't charge any extra fees for thread use as it is included in your square inch price. My personal style attempts to match or blend thread colour with the lighter areas of your quilt top. But this is your quilt! Let me know if you have a preference on thread colour.
I use the same colour thread on the top and in the bobbin -- this may blend or be prominent on the back.
Basting Services
Do you love quilting your own quilts but hate spray basting or pinning your quilts yourself? I can help with that! I can baste all your layers together using large stitches and contrasting thread.
Price is 0.01 per square inch. Minimum price is $50.00

Once your quilt is complete, I will send you an invoice via text or email.
I accept cash or e-transfer.
I really appreciate timely payments as that enables me to return your quilt to you right away.
